Hello Anna, thanks for your comment and would love to read what you're up to. The Warburg article is not out yet, they're doing final edits. It will be in Volume 5 (Transdisciplinary Design) of the Journal of Design Strategies. If you're in a rush I could email you the pre-final version. Looking forward to your review of QC!

Just about to launch into Quantum City and as I am writing on Collage City I am interested in the role of the Warburg Institute on Colin Rowe so would like the reference to the US journal you mention if possible.

@Fourat, thanks my dear for a great comment – am glad you’ve enjoyed reading the intro – and I know you’ve read the book, I remember you bought like 7 copies at the launch 10 years ago

The way you talk of your “special project” made me think of a recent article I wrote for a US journal about Aby Warburg and his quantum-like “life endeavour”, so stay tuned I will add a link to it as soon as it’s out.

Curious to know more about your project though.

i am reading your intro, again. it was inspiring. i felt as if watching you on TED. i love the way it opened up new ways of looking at urban design, or even just deciphering the city. do you feel that difference in daily life now, while dealing with your social and professional environment?

for quite some years now, i have been dedicating part of my time to a special project of mine, that would hopefully develop one day soon into a life endeavor. it is very much linked to quantum theory, although this time applied to consumerist behavior and retail. nothing too noble i think of it (and act on it) as a project in continuous beta-mode, that is completed only in the sense that it is ever-changing.
i can tell you that working on it is extremely exhilarating to me.

anyway, i had to comment, because you touched something in me that wasn’t there when i first read your book… i loved it the first time, but was content with observing your experience from a distance. now i feel that i have a ‘quantum’ process of my own )))

You're right about Mr. Jencks, and it is not merely an opinion that he's "too old" to possibly foresee a new paradigm. It is surprising how many people who talk about paradigm shifts actually demonstrate no real understanding of what Kuhn indicated in his "the structure of scientific revolutions". He clearly states that paradigms are discontinuities with existing directions and attitudes in research, and he also states that a new paradigm can only emerge from young researchers, young by age but also by experience. Jencks is neither, and his constant reference to existing buildings as examples of a new paradigm is clearly self contraddictory.
